Sharps Guidance
If you come across any sharps, such as needles, during a Rubbish Project clean-up, do not touch them with your bare hands. Never place loose sharps directly into a bucket or bag.
During your clean-up, you can report the location of the needle to the City of Portland through See Click Fix or inform a Rubbish Crew member so we can ensure safe removal. Your safety, and the safety of our Rubbish Crew and others who handle the collected trash, is our priority — please take precautions and ask for assistance if needed!

Alternatively, if you feel comfortable handling it safely, use thick gloves or grabber and a hard-sided container, such as a sharps container or puncture-resistant plastic bottle, to dispose of it properly.
